About the Role:

We're looking for a passionate, experienced, and hands-on DEV Team Leader who’s ready to shape what comes next for FLEXDOG. This isn’t just a technical leadership role—it’s a chance to directly influence how we build, scale, and innovate.

You’ll lead our small but focused dev team, actively contribute code, guide architecture decisions, and work closely with product to drive key projects forward—from our new mobile app to AI-powered automations and international expansion.

We're looking for someone with an AI-first mindset—not in the buzzword sense, but someone who naturally considers where automation, machine learning, or intelligent tooling can bring measurable value to our product and processes. We value clarity over complexity, speed over ceremony, and results over theory. If you’re someone who leads by doing and thinks critically about how tech can make things better, we’d love to talk.

What you’ll work on:

• Lead our backend/frontend developers while actively contributing to the codebase (mostly Golang, some NodeJS and PHP)
• Evolve our product architecture and make key decisions about our tech stack
• Collaborate on new products like our mobile app and gamified customer account
• Bring AI into play—help us automate performance marketing and business intelligence processes
• Maintain and scale our core systems including product catalog management, feed processing, tracking pixels, and internal tools
• Oversee our DevOps workflows in AWS and Google Cloud Platform, running on Kubernetes
• Partner closely with our product owner and marketing team to align development with business strategy

Our Stack:

• Languages & Frameworks: Golang (primary), Node.js, PHP (Symfony legacy), gRPC (Twirp)
• Databases: MySQL, Elasticsearch, TimescaleDB
• Infrastructure & Tools: Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, RabbitMQ, Google Cloud, AWS
• Bonus if you know: AI/ML concepts, mobile app frameworks, or you’re eager to explore them with us

About You:

• You’re a senior developer with leadership experience (formal or informal)
• You love building things, mentoring others, and pushing for clean, scalable solutions
• You’re pragmatic but not afraid to explore new technologies or approaches
• You care about the product just as much as the code
• You have experience in e-commerce or fast-paced startups (a big plus)
• You have DevOps knowledge (especially in AWS and GCP environments)
• You're open to AI and automation and excited about its potential impact on development workflows

We’re a flat-structured, results-driven startup based in Prague. Our small team moves fast and delivers. We don’t micromanage—we trust each other and communicate openly. Home office is possible, but we love collaboration and ideally want someone who’s present in the office regularly.

Who You’ll Work With:

You’ll lead a tight-knit DEV team (1 Frontend, 1 Backend), collaborate daily with Jakub (CEO/Product Owner) and marketing department. We keep things agile, direct, and focused on delivering value to our users.
